PROBATE AND ESTATE ADMINISTRATION

Probate is the legal process whereby a deceased person's estate is administered, his or her assets are distributed, and any obligations are paid.  A formal probate is not required in all cases and more efficient alternatives may be available, depending on the circumstances.
